Annette Funicello was an American performer and a singer. She is best remembered as being one of the Mickey Mouse Club's original Mouseketeers. She began singing in her teens and became famous for her hit song "Tall Paul" and "Pineapple Princess." Born and raised in Utica and with Italian immigrant parents, Annette was a shy teenager. Annette hoped to make her dream of becoming an entertainer, so she began dancing and acting. Around the middle of 1950, she was featured in a number of Disney sketches as one of the "Mouseketeers" which earned her significant recognition. Annette shed her Disney persona as an adult and began to take on roles for adults. Her most famous role is being among the very first actors to introduce the category of "beach parties". The films she appeared in included 'How to Stuff a wild bikini.' Pajama Party.' and Beach Party. The singer continued to record music albums.
